Making a Difference Through Small Actions

Over 65 CF’ers participated in Volunteer Week, making a direct impact on our communities.

Volunteer week

At CF, we are committed to our Purpose of Transforming Communities for a Vibrant Tomorrow. Recently, during National Volunteer Week (April 16-22), we had the opportunity to put this commitment to action by volunteering at three of CF’s charitable partners: Eva’s Initiatives for Homeless Youth, Second Harvest and Casey House. Over 65 CF’ers participated in Volunteer Week, making a direct impact on our communities. By sorting 5,410 lbs. of carrots for distribution to Second Harvest's network of agency partners, creating around 2,000 harm reduction kits for clients of Casey House, and stocking an entire truck-load of provisions into Eva’s community kitchen, we demonstrated that small actions can create a ripple effect of change. But the impact also went beyond carrots and kits - it brought us together as a community. CF’ers new and old had the chance to share an experience outside of our four walls and create a bond through service. "I highly recommend everyone to participate. It’s a great feeling to give back… who would think just packing carrots can lift you up so much!"
